Located in the lobby of Cincinnati’s tallest and most prestigious downtown structure, Restaurant L is bringing fine French dining back to the heart of the city. Designer’s were challenged to create a modern sophisticated dining experience that evokes the elegance and style of Paris.

Creating unique and memorable experiences in all public spaces was important to both the executive chef as well as the maitre-d who have been partners and friends for 20 years. Named after both their daughters’ whose first names share the letter L, no other name could capture their passion and dedication.

Beginning at the entry a simple chic L sets the tone for the evening. Over-sized portals in rich striated ebony create ceremonial entries into both the restaurant and main dining room. Bernardaud custom lamps sitting on a lustrous leather bar top and vintage French Empire chandeliers contribute to the warmth and comfort of the lounge. Graceful furniture in rich pearlescent leathers and colorful artwork complement the rich, red palette.

Entering the dining room a specially commissioned tree sculpture centered on axis draws patrons into a two-story space rich in luxurious silks, shimmering silver fabrics in muted grays, blues, and fleur-de-lis plaster panels. A hand-painted oval dome in silver leaf anchors the space establishing a sense of intimacy and sophistication.

Special attention was given to every element, including lighting, finishes and materials, to a special ottoman for ladies’ purses, down to the Limoges china and Degrenne flatware. There is a feeling of luxury and classic style throughout, interpreted in a modern and timeless fashion.
