The hope for this private residence once finished is to have successfully created an exclusive and distinctive space. Tilsley Architects worked closely with the owners to ensure the home would achieve a LEED status rating, an optional list of environmentally conscious requirements for new builds. (Find out more about LEED here.) As a result, a free-form design is focused on large overlapping planes that have been pushed and pulled to create an open yet private residence. Despite this rigid concrete mass design, a Zen garden with a pond and a rooftop terrace add a soft earthiness to create a tension between natural materials manipulated by modern day process.
